Last year, The New York Times experimented with a public calendar product, which let readers sync their personal calendars with events related to astronomy.

This week, the Gray Lady is launching a similar initiative with this Culture Calendar, built for its NY-based readers. They will be able to pack their calendar with the best events curated by the paper’s editors.


That’s typically a great service that culture publishers can offer to their digital audience – and I’m quite surprised we’re not seeing this kind of initiative offered elsewhere. Being present in your reader’s intimate calendar is a super powerful opportunity for engagement and retention!
