China’s rise as an economic superpower is probably one of the most understated stories of these last 30 years in the Western media. The Wall Street Journal published last week this interesting data piece, which tries to depict the impressive growth of Chinese exports in the U.S.

The story uses the WSJ’s slideshow layout, which is very powerful when the data analysis is well told. It’s a good complement to the New York Times’s recent five-part series “China Rules”, which is a more comprehensive analysis with stunning photography.
