The Intercept has always valued good design but I especially love how their big investigations make subtle use of graphics to elevate the story.

Their recent revelations about the NSA’s secret spy hubs inside 8 AT&T facilities across the US are a good example. The long article features animated headings and graphics which contribute to the cryptic atmosphere.

Bonus for transparency (as always with The Intercept): you can tap on certain words to reveal their jargon-free meaning, or explore the leaked documents in the end.
