RAD is Radio Canada’s news brand for young people, and it really makes me want to be a Canadian millenial.
First launched as a social media experiment in 2017, RAD was built to experiment with creative forms of storytelling. Now it has a full-fledged website and a sick (or, wait for it… rad) branding that goes perfectly with its casual editorial tone. You can expect a lot of video content, a lot of young & stylish people explaining things, but everything looks interesting and catchy.
Take a look at this guide built for the upcoming local elections in Québec: you can sign up and receive an entertaining analysis every day in your inbox. That reminds me of what ProPublica is trying to do in the US, this time for an audience whose attention is notoriously hard to capture.
